The Rev. Brenda Bynum, a native of Greensboro and a graduate of Greensboro College and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, became a full-time chaplain for the Trinity Oaks campus Nov. 3.

Bynum came from Carson, Calif., where she was a senior pastor at First Lutheran Church. The move will allow Bynum to be closer to her children and grandchildren in North Carolina.

Soon after her ordination in 2002, Bynum began the first of three terms on the Lutheran Services Carolinas board of directors. She has served as associate pastor of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gastonia, and Mission Developer for the Agape Lutheran Community, Gastonia, before moving to California.

“We are delighted to have Brenda Bynum at Trinity Oaks,” said Trinity Oaks Campus Executive Director Bill Johnson.
